Produce
“Seven days without our fruit makes one weak!”
Fifty years ago our company had one product: Produce. Our goal was to find and sell the best produce available; only the freshest, the highest in quality and the best in price would do. This goal is the foundation of our company.
At Lamberts, we have evolved with the changing times, now offering more products than produce. We have consistently maintained our core values of hard work and customer service in our effort to provide the freshest in produce, delicatessen, imported and domestic groceries. We have also become a full service Nursery; that stocks local flowers, plants, trees and shrubs; as well as the biggest selection of retail Christmas trees from Maine to New York.
Over the years, our commitment to Produce has remained steadfast, come and see for yourself; you will not be disappointed

Fresh Produce at Lambert's Fruit
Lambert's Fruit was built on fresh produce. Since our founding over 50 years ago, we've been Greater Boston's destination for high-quality fresh fruits and vegetables — sourced daily and displayed at our Westwood and Dorchester locations. Produce isn't a department for us. It's where we started, and it's still the heart of everything we do.

Why Shop Produce at Lambert's?
Greater Boston has plenty of grocery options. Here's why shoppers have been choosing Lambert's produce for over 50 years.
Freshness guarantee — restocked daily
Our produce floor is restocked every single day. What you see on display was brought in fresh — not sitting in a back room for a week waiting to be rotated out. If it doesn't meet our standards, it doesn't go on the shelf.
Family-owned care and quality control
Lambert's is a family business, not a chain. The people selecting and handling your produce have a personal stake in what goes out the door — a level of care that national grocery chains simply can't replicate at scale.
Competitive local pricing
Better produce doesn't have to mean higher prices. Lambert's has always been committed to offering the freshest quality at fair, competitive prices for the communities we serve in Westwood and Dorchester.
Wide variety of seasonal and year-round items
From everyday staples like bananas and broccoli to seasonal New England specialties you won't find at a chain — Lambert's offers a produce range that moves with the calendar and serves every kind of cook and household.
Used in our own kitchen — we trust it ourselves
The same fresh produce on our display floor goes directly into our kitchen — our smoothies, salads, platters, and prepared foods are all made from the same fruits and vegetables we sell to you. We don't use one supplier for retail and another for cooking. It's all one standard: the best we can find.
Local Sourcing
When New England farms are producing, we're buying from them.
Lambert's has a long-standing commitment to sourcing from local New England farms whenever the growing season allows. From midsummer corn and tomatoes to fall apples and squash, we work with regional growers to bring the shortest possible path from field to display. Local produce isn't just fresher — it supports the farming communities that have sustained this region for generations, and it reflects the New England character that Lambert's itself was built on.
During peak growing season, you'll find Massachusetts- and New England-grown produce prominently featured in our stores. Our team sources produce daily, which means we can pivot quickly to what's ripest and freshest from nearby farms rather than being locked into long-haul supply contracts.
Outside of the local growing season, we source from the best regional and national suppliers available — applying the same quality standards regardless of origin. Our goal is always the same: the freshest, best-tasting produce we can find for our customers and our community.
